Healing on the Physical Layer

To heal on the Physical layer, consider the following:

  1. Use the Young Living oils or supplements that come up for you on the Zyto Compass Bio-Survey (see the tab at the top of this blog).  All essential oils bring oxygen and nutrition into the cells and push chemicals and toxins out of the cells.  Essential oils are very basic to healing on a physical layer (although they do so much on the other layers as well).
  2. Get proper nutrition, sleep, and exercise.  There is nothing that can replace these vital elements!  There are many that argue that good nutrition should be our "medicine", and that most of these other steps and tools are not necessary and the need for them is simply eliminated by good food.  I agree!  Unfortunately, it's easier said than done, and we live in a society where food sources are seriously compromised on every side.  Still, as we do our best to eat well, get enough sleep and exercise, many, many problems can be prevented and/or cured.
  3. Get a Foot Zone.  A Foot Zone affects blood circulation, lymph circulation, digestion, elimination, hormone balance and autonomic nerve function.  It works by sending pain signals to the brain that indicate an imbalance in that area, and the brain responds with a therapeutic signal, either through a parasympathetic response or a sympathetic response.
  4. Use Raindrop Technique.  This is a therapeutic application of 9 different essential oils to the feet and the back.  It affects spinal alignment, enhances the immune system, releases trapped emotion, and gets the lymph moving in the body.
  5. Vitaflex works on the peizoelectric property of the skin, which is that if you put pressure on the skin, a small charge builds up that is released when you lift the pressure.  Vitaflex is used in the Raindrop Technique, but it also has it's own unique points that can be used for specific physical healing, including hearing, hip/atlas alignment and heart and blood pressure reflex points.
  6. Touch for Health works on the meridians of the body to bring them into balance.  Specific muscles are used as "indicator" muscles to help assess where imbalances are found.
Much can be accomplished on the physical layer by applying these various techniques!

My friend Shari came to see me because she had injured her foot while running.  She runs consistently, so it was odd that out of the blue one day, she came home and her foot hurt.  It didn't go away, even after two weeks of nursing it.  She needed to be healed on the emotion layer.  We released several emotions, and then found that a Foot Zone was also in order.  We did both of  these things, and she went home without much less pain.  It went away all together later in the day, and she hasn't had it return since.  This was an example of needing to heal on the emotional and physical layers.

In conclusion, as you look at your own health, or that of a family member over whom you have some type of stewardship, I encourage you to look at the four layers of healing, and consider if there might be some other layer that is not being addressed for a particular ailment.  If there is, I encourage you to look into some of the suggestions I have given for addressing that ailment on that layer.  Blessings to you in your journey!

Healing on the Emotional Layer

In the last few months, I have addressed the need to heal on four different layers: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical.  In this blog post, I'd like to address healing on the Emotional layer.

It is not a surprise that the Emotional layer has to do with feelings.  Experts agree that emotions are created by thoughts.  I believe this to be true, except where the sense of smell is concerned.  When we smell something, aromatic molecules reach our olfactory bulb, which then sends nerve endings straight into the limbic portion of the brain.
This is where we handle emotion.  This means that when we smell something, it is first an emotion, and then a logical thought.

Between that emotion, or that thought, which is a primary stimulus, and our response to that emotion or thought, we have a space where we can choose our response to the stimulus.  We have the power, as human beings, using our unique human endowments of imagination, self-awareness, independent will and conscience, to choose our response.  To put it succinctly,

"Between stimulus and response there is a space in which we are free to choose our response."  --Stephen Covey

There are times however, when we are under stress (sympathetic nervous system, also known as fight or flight), that the stimulus of a strong emotion gets buried and covered up.  In that case, we bury feelings and don't deal with them as we should.  These strong emotions get stored in the cells of our body as negative balls of energy, and eventually this starts irritating the cells in that area.  Over time, damage occurs there, and ailments rise to the surface.

At times these trapped emotions, as they are called, can be stored by the body during trauma as a protective measure for what might happen in the future.

For whatever reason, there comes a time when the body feels safe, and no longer feels the need to hang on to that trapped emotion.

It is possible, through various modalities and techniques, to release those trapped emotions, so that the body can go forward with healing.

To release those trapped emotions, and heal on the Emotional layer, consider the following:

  1. Use Bradley Nelson's Emotion Code.
  2. Emotional Release with Essential Oils using the protocol in the Essential Oils Desk Reference
  3. Use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
  4. Use Sharon Plaskett's AMSTAR modality, including Interface (canopy).
  5. Use Young Living's Release Essential Oil Blend.  Put a drop of Release right on the area of the pain, or on the bottom of the feet, at night, and then follow with a "happy" oil such as Valor, Joy, or Forgiveness in the same spot in the morning.
  6. Use Young Living's Idaho Blue Spruce Essential Oil.  Apply Idaho Blue Spruce on the Brow Chakra point (between the eyebrows), and proceed with emotional release techniques.  Put on the market by Young Living just 18 months ago, Gary Young has called Idaho Blue Spruce the Frankincense of the west, and some are finding that it far surpasses any other Young Living oil for aiding in emotional release (and that's really saying something!
  7. Use the protocol found in Young Living's Freedom Sleep and Freedom Release Kits.  Formulated specifically to help the body to find Freedom from past trauma, these new kits recently released by Young Living are being hailed by Veterans as life-changing.
I believe that these modalities help set up the right conditions for our bodies to heal through the Light of Christ.  As we release past emotion, and learn how to deal with strong emotions in our present circumstances, we clear the way for moving forward with gratitude, joy and purpose in our life.

Don’t expect the same results unless you are using Young Living Therapeutic Grade essential oils and supplements. Also, each person is different so you may not get the same results that others have. Healing on the Mental Layer

For any issue, we must heal on four layers before we are well.

Spiritual
Mental
Emotional
Physical

This post outlines some great tools I have found to heal on the Mental Layer.

The Mental layer has to do with our thoughts - our conscious, frontal cortex, logical thoughts.  When our thoughts are negative, we cannot heal on this layer.

To change negative thoughts and heal on the Mental layer, consider the following:

Writing
The best tool that I have found to change negative thinking is described on an audio CD by Kirk Duncan entitled Building a Mind of Steel.  He describes using what he calls a "black dot journal" and a "color journal".  Write down every negative thought that comes to you in the black dot journal (you literally have to carry it around with you for a time), and then counteract it on the opposite page with two positive thoughts.  In the color journal, write down positive thoughts that come to you and who is helping you.

This exercise helps you to discipline your mind and to see what thoughts are helping you and which are not.  It also allows you to objectively and honestly look at what is going on inside your head.  This writing is not for history or posterity - don't show it to anyone, and when you get done with a page in the black dot journal - destroy it.  What is written there are lies.

Consider the source of the thoughts that are coming to your head.  Kirk Duncan asks people, "Who told you that?" as a way of making you think about the source of the negative comments that fill your self-talk.  Does your self-talk sound like a gentle teacher or mother talking to a darling five year old who is learning to live life, or does it sound like the harsh berating and constant demeaning jabs of a ruthless taskmaster?  How are you treated in your head?

Over time, as you write out the negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones, you will train your brain to only think positively.  And when a negative thought does slip in, you immediately recognize it and deal with it.  It is not allowed to linger and become part of your subconscious!

Be Proactive

Stephen Covey, in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People teaches that there is a space between stimulus and response in which we can choose our response.1  In that space, which he calls Freedom to Choose, we have four unique human endowments that we can use to choose our response: Conscience, Self-awareness, Imagination and Independent Will.

I believe that thoughts and some emotions are primary stimulus, and then we have a space to choose our response.  As we exercise our human endowments in that space, the space gets bigger, and we have more control over choosing our response.  We are proactive, instead of reactive.  This is key in the healing of the Mental layer, because we must think well, we must think correctly, and in a right way about our circumstances or the issues we have in order to heal.

If we don't think well, we will continue to be placed in circumstances or go through experiences that attempt to teach us this lesson.

Each event in a person's life leads to the next event.  Each lesson is preceded by the exact set of experiences which prepare that person to be able to move along a continuum of learning.  When a lesson is presented and not learned, another series of experiences will take the person to an arena where they can recreate the experience at a different level.  This process will continue to be repeated until the whole person is awakened to who they really are.2  -- Ranae Johnson

Personal Power of One
Use Sharon Plaskett's Personal Power of One.  Sharon teaches a great class on this and has several processes that are very valuable, such as First Person Singular, Owning My Own, A Friendly Self-Monitoring, the Vent for Self-Empowerment and others.  It has been written especially for people who find themselves in circumstances where there is a lot of conflict.

Five Elements: A Room With a View
Sharon Plaskett also teaches a great class on the Chinese Five Elements, and she teaches you processes, including the Labyrinth to Self, that teach you both cognitively and energetically what blocks are present and how to get through them.

Healing Code
Download Alex Loyd's Truth Focus Statements here, and use them while doing the Healing Code

Essential Oils
Use Peppermint, Cedarwood, Clarity, Common Sense or Brain Power. All of these essential oils help the mind think clearly and increase focus.

The fragrant influence of Peppermint is purifying and stimulating to the conscious mind.3

Cedarwood has been known to clear past blocks that we have about learning new things.

Clarity promotes a clear mind and amplifies mental alertness, and vitality.  It increases energy when overly tired and brings greater focus to the spirit and mind.4

Brain Power promotes deep concentration and channels physical energy into mental energy.  It also increases mental potential and clarity.  The oils in this blend also help dissolve petrochemicals that congest the receptor sites , clearing the "brain fog" that people experience due to exposure to synthetic petrochemicals in food, skin, hair car products, and air.5

Common Sense increases mental acuity, helping to improve decision-making abilities and strengthen every-day thinking skills.6

Music
If changes are going to happen on the mental layer, it is imperative that the music that one listens to is full of enlivening words.  Because music has the power to reach the subconscious mind, the words that go with the music reaches the subconscious mind also, and our subconscious mind strives to make it a reality.  Kirk Duncan says that if you listen to a song over and over, in 2-3 months you will start acting out the behavior that is described in that song.  He actually sits down with his teenage son periodically, and goes over the words to the Top Ten billboard chart songs, in order to anticipate what his trainings need to be about in the next 2-3 months.  In other words, he knows the challenges and behaviors that are going to start showing up because of what people are listening to.  So if healing needs to take place on the mental layer, the words in the music that you listen to need to be healing, positive words.

Conclusion
The purpose of these Mental layer tools is to train the brain to think the right way.  When we write thoughts down, we give our brain evidence of what is going on inside our head, and then it allows us to choose more objectively what direction we want to take.

Right thinking is powerful.

Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you are right!

If you need more guidance on how to implement these tools, you can schedule a Balance with me, and I can teach you how to more fully take advantage of these tools or work through the Processes found in Sharon Plaskett's modalities. It is wonderful to get your brain trained to think well!

Healing the Spiritual Layer

For any issue, we must heal on four layers before we are well.

Spiritual
Mental
Emotional
Physical

This post outlines some great tools that I have found to heal on the Spiritual layer.

The Spiritual layer has to do with our connection with God and with the Earth (or mother earth).  When we are not connected properly to either of these sources of vital energy, the Spiritual layer will be off.

To heal on the Spiritual layer, consider the following:

Gratitude
Give the cells/tissue/organ/situation/condition gratitude. Sharon Plaskett taught me to think of the area of the body that has been hurting and say,
"Thank you for working so hard. Thank you!  I give you permission to change when you're ready."
Your body has been protecting you and giving you warning signs. Be grateful for it! When you feel safe, your cells and tissues will release what they have been safeguarding, and they will change.  Likewise, your experiences have been teaching you.  Be grateful for them!  When you have learned the lessons they were designed to teach you, they will change.

Sharon Plaskett also taught me that gratitude can move things that love can't.  Ponder on that for awhile!

Gratitude changes everything inside of you, which is where the change is really needed, is it not?  Use Gratitude Essential Oil Blend to aid in this process.

Prayer
Pray and give thanks to Heavenly Father for your body, and for mortality.  Thank Him for this life and the ability to have a body, to learn, and to grow.  Thank Him for being connected to the Earth.
For some, being connected to the Earth is not what they want.  They would rather be in Heaven.  Our longing for our eternal home is good, but not if we are so homesick that we are not living in the present.  Living in the present in mortality means being grateful for being on Earth and being connected to mother earth.  Present Time Essential Oil Blend is a wonderful oil to maintain that connection.

Repentance
Consider if repentance is needed.  We need repentance every day, of course, but specifically consider whether there is repentance needed having to do with the ailment/condition/situation you are trying to heal. The best way to figure out what that may be is to pray!  Pray and ask.  Along with reading from Holy Scripture, for additional help, reference Feelings Buried Alive Never Die, or Heal Your Body for more information on the connection between what your ailment is and what the emotional issue(s) behind it may be.  This may give you a clue to the area in which repentance is needed.

Use Transformation Essential Oil Blend to aid in the repentance process. “True repentance is about transformation, not torture or torment.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf (Ensign,November 2013, “You Can Do It Now”)

Relationships
Kirk Duncan often points out that if you are having trouble getting things off your Vision Board (i.e. reaching your goals), then you have to look at the relationships in your life.
I believe this also applies to healing on the spiritual layer.

One of the really great tools I have found for troubled relationships is Ho'oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian tradition for healing relationships.
There is a great story about Ho'oponopono about a man who used this technique to get rid of all the prisoners in a notorious jail on one of the islands in Hawaii.  He took the folder for each prisoner, studied their name and history, and then every day he would say the following when thinking of that person:
  • I am sorry
  • Please forgive me
  • I love you
  • I am grateful for you
Over time, the behavior changed in the prison, and eventually they had to shut down the prison because each inmate successfully got out of prison and finished parole.  It's a great story!
My own experience with Ho'oponopono has been powerful.  It may not change the other person, but it changes me, and I am able to rid myself of negative feelings towards people by doing this.  I treasure that feeling!

Another tool for healing relationships is to cut the negative cord that goes between you and the other person.  Visualize in your mind the negative cord between you.  Picture a giant pair of scissors, and take the scissors and cut the cord in half.  Take their end of the cord and point it up to heaven, and take your end of the cord and point it up to heaven.  This is where the source of energy should come - from heaven - not from another person.  Keep any positive cords between you filled with light.

Grounding
Use Grounding techniques to be fully immersed in your body and connected to the Earth.  See my earlier post for more details.  We need to stay with the Earth!

Foot Zone
Make sure the pituitary and pineal gland points on the big toe are connected when doing a Foot Zone.  Connecting these two glands assures that there is a connection between our spiritual and temporal lives.

Essential Oils
Use Sacred Frankincense or Three (3) Wise Men Essential Oil Blend on the Crown Chakra, which has to do with our connection to God.  Both of these oils are very high in alpha pinene, which is a compound that helps open up the pineal gland (the seat of revelation) in the brain. They can also be used on the big toe for the pituitary and pineal glands.

Interface
This modality uses a canopy to reflect the body's own energy in order to move things.  If you have energy that is not your own, you can, upon closer inspection, see what is your own energy and what is not.  When you're in a parking lot and walking toward a car that you think is yours, when you finally get up to the car, you can look at it and see that it's not yours.  So it is with energy that is not your own.  This modality helps you to recognize it and move it. We cannot heal on the spiritual layer if we have energy with us that is not our own.  (Look up Sharon Plaskett for more information on this modality).

Besides knowing that we heal on four layers, it is important to remember that we heal step by step.  As the scriptures say, we learn line upon line, precept on precept.
Isn't it a lovely thought that when we have healed, we have learned something; that when we are healed, we have changed?
Sometimes we are ready to learn by leaps and bounds, and sometimes we are only ready for baby steps.  But there is always HOPE!  Hope in the Savior and hope in our ability to choose to be healed.  As long as we are facing the right way, there is always Hope.

And there's an oil for that too!  :)  You know me... couldn't help but throw that in.

If you need more guidance on any of these suggestions/tools for healing on the Spiritual layer, schedule a Balance with me.  As one client said to me this week, "Thank you! I feel 30 lbs. lighter!".  And another client said, "Thank you for all you do.  You are helping me feel hope again.  it's the best gift anyone has ever given me."

Remember to look for upcoming posts for more details on each of these layers!

Four Layers of Healing

Healing must take place on four layers before you are well:

Spiritual
Mental
Emotional
Physical

The tools and ideas I present below help set up the right conditions for healing to take place, but in and of themselves they do not heal.

Jesus Christ is the Master Healer.

It is important to know that all healing, on every layer, takes place through the Light of Christ.

When you have an ailment, discern what the source is by considering, "Is this on a spiritual layer, or an emotional layer, or both?"  Or, "Does this have a mental component as well as the physical component that I know is there?"  Or, (and I've heard this one a lot), "The Doctors say that nothing is wrong."  If that's the case, the physical layer may be healed, but could there be a mental, spiritual or emotional layer that is not healed?  Give this some thought, pray about it, discern through intuition, test it through muscle check.  What layer(s) need to be healed?

The following are some ideas and modalities for healing each layer that I have found valuable.  I will list simple bullet points in this post, and then I will post more detailed information about each layer (and the bullet points) in subsequent posts.

To heal on the Spiritual layer, consider the following:

  1. Give the cells gratitude.
  2. Pray and give thanks to Heavenly Father for your body, and for mortality.
  3. Consider if repentance is needed.
  4. How are your relationships?
  5. Grounding techniques.
  6. Connect pituitary and pineal glands with the Foot Zone.
  7. Use Sacred Frankincense or Three (3) Wise Men Essential Oil Blend

To heal on the Mental layer, consider the following:

  1. Write down negative thoughts and the positive affirmations to counteract them.
  2. Be proacitve.
  3. Processes from Personal Power of One and the Chinese Five Elements.
  4. Truth Focus Statements while doing the Healing Code.
  5. Use Peppermint, Cedarwood, Clarity, Common Sense or Brain Power.

To heal on the Emotional layer, consider the following:

  1. Emotion Code.
  2. Emotional Release with Essential Oils.
  3. Emotional Freedom Technique
  4. AMSTAR (Amazingly Simple Trauma Release)
  5. Use  Release Essential Oil Blend  and Idaho Blue Spruce Essential Oil

To heal on the Physical layer, consider the following:

  1. Use the Young Living products from your Zyto Compass Bio-Survey.
  2. Proper nutrition and sleep.
  3. Foot Zone
  4. Raindrop Technique
  5. Vitaflex
  6. Touch for Health

Do you have your own ideas for methods or modalities that would heal on these different layers? Use them!

Everything I have suggested here I have learned by reading books, going to classes, learning from mentors, and being open to practicing and experimenting until I developed some skill.  I don't have any extraordinary "energy" gifts, but I do have the gift of learning and teaching, and I can share this knowledge with you!

If you need more guidance, you can schedule some time with me to do what I call a "Balance".  We will determine what your goal is for healing on that day, and then we will do muscle check to determine which layers need attention, and what modality would best help you on that day.

Remember to look for upcoming posts for more details on each of these layers!

Note
  • Please note that most of these modalities work on more than one layer, but I have categorized them under just one layer for simplicity.
  • This list is meant to be a springboard of ideas.  I have put them in this particular blog because I have experience in these tools/modalities, and they have worked for me, my family and my clients.
  • This is by no means an exhaustive list of the tools that can be used for healing.  (I have actually left off the most important one.  If you want to know what that is, find some Mormon Missionaries - they can help!)

Don’t expect the same results unless you are using Young Living Therapeutic Grade essential oils and supplements. Also, each person is different so you may not get the same results that others have. If this is the case for you, try another Young Living oil or supplement that might work better for your circumstances. Essential oil testimonials are an effective way of learning and sharing. With this knowledge, we can take control of our own personal health. However, we are required by law to state that these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Grounding or Earthing: Some Added Insights

"A bit of earth" on the high plains of Wyoming
A few months ago, Dr. Mercola posted a great article about grounding, or earthing, as it is called.  The whole concept of grounding is fascinating to me.  When they find out about it, people ask,  "Is that why I love my garden so much?", and my answer is a resounding yes.

Reading the article made me think of some oils that I would want to add into the practice he described of putting your bare feet on grass or sand to allow electrons to come up into the body.  This is like a major anti-oxidant treatment.

Valor (which comes in a 15-ml bottle or a 10-ml Roll-on)  would be the first one I would apply.

Valor has been shown under the microscope to cause the red blood cells to loosen up and not clump together.  This is a sign of healthy red blood cells.  Valor also re-establishes the body's electrical circuits.  If you have a blown fuse in your car's electrical circuit, you have to replace it in order for the circuit to run properly.  Putting Valor on is like changing the fuse in your body's electrical circuits.

According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, Grounding is a blend of the following oils:

Spruce (Picea mariana) helps to open and release emotional blocks, creating a feeling of balance and grounding.
Fir, white (Abies concolor) creats a feeling of groudning, anchoring, and empowering.
Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) increases relaxation and balances male and female energies.  It also restores confidenc and equilibrium.
Pine (Pinus sylvestris) helps reduce stress, relieve anxiety, and energize the entire body.  It has a grounding, yet empowering aromatic effect.
Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) is high in sesquiterpenes, which can stiulate the limbic part of the  brain, the center of emotions and memory.  It stimulates the pineal gland, which releases melatonin, thereby improving thoughts, cognition, and memory.  Cedarwood has been used for stabilizing and grounding oneself.
Angelica (Angelica archangelica) helps to bring memories back to the point of origin before trauma or anger was experienced, helping us to release negative feelings.
Juniper (Juniperus osteosperma and J. scopulorum) elevates spiritual awareness, creating feelings of love and peace.1

So adding in any of these oils as singles would contribute to grounding efforts, and the blend makes even easier.

Galbanum is also a grounding oil.  It is included in the essential oil blend of Gathering, which helps one to gather in scattered energy.

The fragrant influence of Galbanum, according to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, is harmonic and balancing.2

Root Chakra
Chakra chart from wellspringreiki.com
Grounding also has to do with the root chakra, which extends in a cone starting at the pelvis and going in a funnel down to the ground.  The root chakra has to do with money, survival, and temporal issues.  It is RED, so if you want to be more grounded, wear red!  You can also hum the note C, or listen to a song in C Major.  You can say, "I am a Mother.  I have.", or "I am a Father. I have."  These are both affirmations and archetypes that go with the root chakra.

Spiritual Layer
Although it may seem counter intuitive, grounding is one of the things that we must do to heal on the spiritual layer.  If we are not fully grounded, with our spirits fully connected to our bodies, than we cannot heal.  We NEED to be connected to the mother earth in a literal way in order for us to progress and learn what we need to in this mortal life.  Without that connection, which is sometimes called the mind-body connection, we cannot heal on the spiritual layer.  When we don't heal on any one of the four layers of healing - spiritual, mental, emotional and/or physical - the ailment may be cured of symptomatic behavior for a time, but the ailment will always come back.  When we are grounded, we have gratitude for the earth, our body, and our chance to grow and progress in mortality.  This is where grounding really starts to make sense!

"I don't like feet!"  or  "I don't like my feet to be touched!"
Have you ever heard that from anyone?  Or do you feel like that?  The reason that feeling or emotion is present is because that person does not want to be in their body and connected to the earth, and consequently, they aren't.  This leads to the problems mentioned above, problems of not being fully immersed in the body and/or fully grateful for the body, and what it means to be in the body, connected to the earth, and having the opportunity to learn and grow in mortality.  Just understanding this concept and acknowledging it is huge, meaning that it leads to resolving it.  You can also use the mind/body connector point that you learn in Foot Zone to aid in this process.  Energetically, anytime someone holds your feet, this calls your spirit to be fully immersed in your body, which is necessary for healing.  Using the grounding techniques above - the bare feet in the grass, using the oils (like Valor - which gives you courage and confidence to face mortality!), affirming the root chakra - all these will resolve that emotion.  You can also use the Emotion Code to free up that trapped emotion that no longer serves you.

Remember this:  We need to be connected to the Earth!  We need to stay with the Earth.3  If we do, will be caught up in the clouds of glory with the Savior, Jesus Christ, when he returns to the Earth.4
If we remain with the Earth we remain with Him.  What a glorious day that will be!
