Healing the Spiritual Layer

For any issue, we must heal on four layers before we are well.

Spiritual
Mental
Emotional
Physical

This post outlines some great tools that I have found to heal on the Spiritual layer.

The Spiritual layer has to do with our connection with God and with the Earth (or mother earth).  When we are not connected properly to either of these sources of vital energy, the Spiritual layer will be off.

To heal on the Spiritual layer, consider the following:

Gratitude
Give the cells/tissue/organ/situation/condition gratitude. Sharon Plaskett taught me to think of the area of the body that has been hurting and say,
"Thank you for working so hard. Thank you!  I give you permission to change when you're ready."
Your body has been protecting you and giving you warning signs. Be grateful for it! When you feel safe, your cells and tissues will release what they have been safeguarding, and they will change.  Likewise, your experiences have been teaching you.  Be grateful for them!  When you have learned the lessons they were designed to teach you, they will change.

Sharon Plaskett also taught me that gratitude can move things that love can't.  Ponder on that for awhile!

Gratitude changes everything inside of you, which is where the change is really needed, is it not?  Use Gratitude Essential Oil Blend to aid in this process.

Prayer
Pray and give thanks to Heavenly Father for your body, and for mortality.  Thank Him for this life and the ability to have a body, to learn, and to grow.  Thank Him for being connected to the Earth.
For some, being connected to the Earth is not what they want.  They would rather be in Heaven.  Our longing for our eternal home is good, but not if we are so homesick that we are not living in the present.  Living in the present in mortality means being grateful for being on Earth and being connected to mother earth.  Present Time Essential Oil Blend is a wonderful oil to maintain that connection.

Repentance
Consider if repentance is needed.  We need repentance every day, of course, but specifically consider whether there is repentance needed having to do with the ailment/condition/situation you are trying to heal. The best way to figure out what that may be is to pray!  Pray and ask.  Along with reading from Holy Scripture, for additional help, reference Feelings Buried Alive Never Die, or Heal Your Body for more information on the connection between what your ailment is and what the emotional issue(s) behind it may be.  This may give you a clue to the area in which repentance is needed.

Use Transformation Essential Oil Blend to aid in the repentance process. “True repentance is about transformation, not torture or torment.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf (Ensign,November 2013, “You Can Do It Now”)

Relationships
Kirk Duncan often points out that if you are having trouble getting things off your Vision Board (i.e. reaching your goals), then you have to look at the relationships in your life.
I believe this also applies to healing on the spiritual layer.

One of the really great tools I have found for troubled relationships is Ho'oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian tradition for healing relationships.
There is a great story about Ho'oponopono about a man who used this technique to get rid of all the prisoners in a notorious jail on one of the islands in Hawaii.  He took the folder for each prisoner, studied their name and history, and then every day he would say the following when thinking of that person:
  • I am sorry
  • Please forgive me
  • I love you
  • I am grateful for you
Over time, the behavior changed in the prison, and eventually they had to shut down the prison because each inmate successfully got out of prison and finished parole.  It's a great story!
My own experience with Ho'oponopono has been powerful.  It may not change the other person, but it changes me, and I am able to rid myself of negative feelings towards people by doing this.  I treasure that feeling!

Another tool for healing relationships is to cut the negative cord that goes between you and the other person.  Visualize in your mind the negative cord between you.  Picture a giant pair of scissors, and take the scissors and cut the cord in half.  Take their end of the cord and point it up to heaven, and take your end of the cord and point it up to heaven.  This is where the source of energy should come - from heaven - not from another person.  Keep any positive cords between you filled with light.

Grounding
Use Grounding techniques to be fully immersed in your body and connected to the Earth.  See my earlier post for more details.  We need to stay with the Earth!

Foot Zone
Make sure the pituitary and pineal gland points on the big toe are connected when doing a Foot Zone.  Connecting these two glands assures that there is a connection between our spiritual and temporal lives.

Essential Oils
Use Sacred Frankincense or Three (3) Wise Men Essential Oil Blend on the Crown Chakra, which has to do with our connection to God.  Both of these oils are very high in alpha pinene, which is a compound that helps open up the pineal gland (the seat of revelation) in the brain. They can also be used on the big toe for the pituitary and pineal glands.

Interface
This modality uses a canopy to reflect the body's own energy in order to move things.  If you have energy that is not your own, you can, upon closer inspection, see what is your own energy and what is not.  When you're in a parking lot and walking toward a car that you think is yours, when you finally get up to the car, you can look at it and see that it's not yours.  So it is with energy that is not your own.  This modality helps you to recognize it and move it. We cannot heal on the spiritual layer if we have energy with us that is not our own.  (Look up Sharon Plaskett for more information on this modality).

Besides knowing that we heal on four layers, it is important to remember that we heal step by step.  As the scriptures say, we learn line upon line, precept on precept.
Isn't it a lovely thought that when we have healed, we have learned something; that when we are healed, we have changed?
Sometimes we are ready to learn by leaps and bounds, and sometimes we are only ready for baby steps.  But there is always HOPE!  Hope in the Savior and hope in our ability to choose to be healed.  As long as we are facing the right way, there is always Hope.

And there's an oil for that too!  :)  You know me... couldn't help but throw that in.

If you need more guidance on any of these suggestions/tools for healing on the Spiritual layer, schedule a Balance with me.  As one client said to me this week, "Thank you! I feel 30 lbs. lighter!".  And another client said, "Thank you for all you do.  You are helping me feel hope again.  it's the best gift anyone has ever given me."

Remember to look for upcoming posts for more details on each of these layers!

Four Layers of Healing

Healing must take place on four layers before you are well:

Spiritual
Mental
Emotional
Physical

The tools and ideas I present below help set up the right conditions for healing to take place, but in and of themselves they do not heal.

Jesus Christ is the Master Healer.

It is important to know that all healing, on every layer, takes place through the Light of Christ.

When you have an ailment, discern what the source is by considering, "Is this on a spiritual layer, or an emotional layer, or both?"  Or, "Does this have a mental component as well as the physical component that I know is there?"  Or, (and I've heard this one a lot), "The Doctors say that nothing is wrong."  If that's the case, the physical layer may be healed, but could there be a mental, spiritual or emotional layer that is not healed?  Give this some thought, pray about it, discern through intuition, test it through muscle check.  What layer(s) need to be healed?

The following are some ideas and modalities for healing each layer that I have found valuable.  I will list simple bullet points in this post, and then I will post more detailed information about each layer (and the bullet points) in subsequent posts.

To heal on the Spiritual layer, consider the following:

  1. Give the cells gratitude.
  2. Pray and give thanks to Heavenly Father for your body, and for mortality.
  3. Consider if repentance is needed.
  4. How are your relationships?
  5. Grounding techniques.
  6. Connect pituitary and pineal glands with the Foot Zone.
  7. Use Sacred Frankincense or Three (3) Wise Men Essential Oil Blend

To heal on the Mental layer, consider the following:

  1. Write down negative thoughts and the positive affirmations to counteract them.
  2. Be proacitve.
  3. Processes from Personal Power of One and the Chinese Five Elements.
  4. Truth Focus Statements while doing the Healing Code.
  5. Use Peppermint, Cedarwood, Clarity, Common Sense or Brain Power.

To heal on the Emotional layer, consider the following:

  1. Emotion Code.
  2. Emotional Release with Essential Oils.
  3. Emotional Freedom Technique
  4. AMSTAR (Amazingly Simple Trauma Release)
  5. Use  Release Essential Oil Blend  and Idaho Blue Spruce Essential Oil

To heal on the Physical layer, consider the following:

  1. Use the Young Living products from your Zyto Compass Bio-Survey.
  2. Proper nutrition and sleep.
  3. Foot Zone
  4. Raindrop Technique
  5. Vitaflex
  6. Touch for Health

Do you have your own ideas for methods or modalities that would heal on these different layers? Use them!

Everything I have suggested here I have learned by reading books, going to classes, learning from mentors, and being open to practicing and experimenting until I developed some skill.  I don't have any extraordinary "energy" gifts, but I do have the gift of learning and teaching, and I can share this knowledge with you!

If you need more guidance, you can schedule some time with me to do what I call a "Balance".  We will determine what your goal is for healing on that day, and then we will do muscle check to determine which layers need attention, and what modality would best help you on that day.

Remember to look for upcoming posts for more details on each of these layers!

Note
  • Please note that most of these modalities work on more than one layer, but I have categorized them under just one layer for simplicity.
  • This list is meant to be a springboard of ideas.  I have put them in this particular blog because I have experience in these tools/modalities, and they have worked for me, my family and my clients.
  • This is by no means an exhaustive list of the tools that can be used for healing.  (I have actually left off the most important one.  If you want to know what that is, find some Mormon Missionaries - they can help!)

Don’t expect the same results unless you are using Young Living Therapeutic Grade essential oils and supplements. Also, each person is different so you may not get the same results that others have. Grounding or Earthing: Some Added Insights

"A bit of earth" on the high plains of Wyoming
A few months ago, Dr. Mercola posted a great article about grounding, or earthing, as it is called.  The whole concept of grounding is fascinating to me.  When they find out about it, people ask,  "Is that why I love my garden so much?", and my answer is a resounding yes.

Reading the article made me think of some oils that I would want to add into the practice he described of putting your bare feet on grass or sand to allow electrons to come up into the body.  This is like a major anti-oxidant treatment.

Valor (which comes in a 15-ml bottle or a 10-ml Roll-on)  would be the first one I would apply.

Valor has been shown under the microscope to cause the red blood cells to loosen up and not clump together.  This is a sign of healthy red blood cells.  Valor also re-establishes the body's electrical circuits.  If you have a blown fuse in your car's electrical circuit, you have to replace it in order for the circuit to run properly.  Putting Valor on is like changing the fuse in your body's electrical circuits.

According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, Grounding is a blend of the following oils:

Spruce (Picea mariana) helps to open and release emotional blocks, creating a feeling of balance and grounding.
Fir, white (Abies concolor) creats a feeling of groudning, anchoring, and empowering.
Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) increases relaxation and balances male and female energies.  It also restores confidenc and equilibrium.
Pine (Pinus sylvestris) helps reduce stress, relieve anxiety, and energize the entire body.  It has a grounding, yet empowering aromatic effect.
Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) is high in sesquiterpenes, which can stiulate the limbic part of the  brain, the center of emotions and memory.  It stimulates the pineal gland, which releases melatonin, thereby improving thoughts, cognition, and memory.  Cedarwood has been used for stabilizing and grounding oneself.
Angelica (Angelica archangelica) helps to bring memories back to the point of origin before trauma or anger was experienced, helping us to release negative feelings.
Juniper (Juniperus osteosperma and J. scopulorum) elevates spiritual awareness, creating feelings of love and peace.1

So adding in any of these oils as singles would contribute to grounding efforts, and the blend makes even easier.

Galbanum is also a grounding oil.  It is included in the essential oil blend of Gathering, which helps one to gather in scattered energy.

The fragrant influence of Galbanum, according to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, is harmonic and balancing.2

Root Chakra
Chakra chart from wellspringreiki.com
Grounding also has to do with the root chakra, which extends in a cone starting at the pelvis and going in a funnel down to the ground.  The root chakra has to do with money, survival, and temporal issues.  It is RED, so if you want to be more grounded, wear red!  You can also hum the note C, or listen to a song in C Major.  You can say, "I am a Mother.  I have.", or "I am a Father. I have."  These are both affirmations and archetypes that go with the root chakra.

Spiritual Layer
Although it may seem counter intuitive, grounding is one of the things that we must do to heal on the spiritual layer.  If we are not fully grounded, with our spirits fully connected to our bodies, than we cannot heal.  We NEED to be connected to the mother earth in a literal way in order for us to progress and learn what we need to in this mortal life.  Without that connection, which is sometimes called the mind-body connection, we cannot heal on the spiritual layer.  When we don't heal on any one of the four layers of healing - spiritual, mental, emotional and/or physical - the ailment may be cured of symptomatic behavior for a time, but the ailment will always come back.  When we are grounded, we have gratitude for the earth, our body, and our chance to grow and progress in mortality.  This is where grounding really starts to make sense!

"I don't like feet!"  or  "I don't like my feet to be touched!"
Have you ever heard that from anyone?  Or do you feel like that?  The reason that feeling or emotion is present is because that person does not want to be in their body and connected to the earth, and consequently, they aren't.  This leads to the problems mentioned above, problems of not being fully immersed in the body and/or fully grateful for the body, and what it means to be in the body, connected to the earth, and having the opportunity to learn and grow in mortality.  Just understanding this concept and acknowledging it is huge, meaning that it leads to resolving it.  You can also use the mind/body connector point that you learn in Foot Zone to aid in this process.  Energetically, anytime someone holds your feet, this calls your spirit to be fully immersed in your body, which is necessary for healing.  Using the grounding techniques above - the bare feet in the grass, using the oils (like Valor - which gives you courage and confidence to face mortality!), affirming the root chakra - all these will resolve that emotion.  You can also use the Emotion Code to free up that trapped emotion that no longer serves you.

Remember this:  We need to be connected to the Earth!  We need to stay with the Earth.3  If we do, will be caught up in the clouds of glory with the Savior, Jesus Christ, when he returns to the Earth.4
If we remain with the Earth we remain with Him.  What a glorious day that will be!

Zyto Compass Bio-Survey: Scam or Effective Tool?

I belong to a Young Living Essential Oils discussion group on Linked-In, and a question came up awhile back about the Zyto Compass.  One woman posted this comment, "I think it's a complete waste of money and makes people dependent on it. Personally, I have had many Zyto readings done and they have been completely different every time - even when taking them 10 minutes apart. I think it's a nice idea, but in the end is a scam. (And it is very costly.).... Depending on a machine doesn't fit into my understanding of holistic health and well being. Muscle testing and intuition, trusting my own body and energy, are far more effective and empowering than relying on a machine."

Since I believe there are others with the same feelings about the Zyto, I want to share the reply that I posted on the Linked-In discussion group (slightly edited).

Young Living Independent Distributor
I totally agree with you L______ on the fact that muscle testing and intuition, and trusting in your own body and energy are a step up from the Compass, which is relying on a machine. There is no doubt that being self-reliant is more valuable, and I encourage my clients to learn these skills.

However, I have found it to be a useful and effective tool in the case where time is an issue (it's a lot faster than muscle testing a whole bunch of products), or my own energy is an issue (I'm not in the clear from being stressed or tired), and also, when the person I'm working with is not familiar with muscle testing and the Zyto Compass technology is easier for them to accept and understand.

The reason your readings have been different every time, even ten minutes apart, is because the Zyto is VERY precise, and even the reading of your energy one time changes your energy. This is a basic Quantum Physics principle that the observation and measuring of energy changes it.  Thus, it is best to use the first scan you have.  I wait at least three days before I repeat a scan.

I have found the Compass to be the most valuable when someone is sick or in pain, and then they take what comes up on the Compass right then. That means that you need to have many of Young Living's products on hand. I probably have about 75% of Young Living's products on hand, so when I run on the Compass, I usually have most of what comes up. If I don't have it, I take something with similar properties. I use the products that come up, and I feel better. I've done that for the last four and a half years, dozens and dozens of times, and my family members (a husband and six children) and many clients, have done the same thing with the same results.

I also use it when I do the Raindrop, Foot Zone, Vita-flex, Emotion Code, or other modalities that I use. I run my clients on the Compass before we start the session, to see where they are at, and then I add those oils or supplements in to whatever we're doing that day. In the Raindrop there is a specific point, after the Marjoram in the CARE model, where you can add in other oils. And I have loved using it with the Foot Zone, because I'll come across a tender point on the feet, and an oil that came up for them on the Compass will fit right in with working that specific point. It's awesome!

I have not had as much success with running clients on the Compass, having them order the products, and then having them take them a week or more later, although I have had some. But I still encourage my downline do it, because it does point in the general direction of what oils they should be accumulating through their Essential Rewards order, and then when they ARE sick, and I run them on the Compass, and they have it on hand, they are so excited! This has worked really well.

So L______, even though I agree with you on the need for being able to muscle test and relying on your own intuition, it has not been my experience that the Zyto Compass is a scam. For me, it has been a very useful tool (and it is just that - a tool), and I would pay the $40 subscription fee on a monthly basis, even if I only used it with my own family! Thankfully, it is a blessing to many of my friends and clients as well."

That was my reply to the LinkedIn comment.

This picture shows six of the MAIN reasons why I'm so very grateful to have the Zyto Compass!

Raindrop Technique

Mary and Lorena
At about 10 pm on Frinday night, September 6th, I heard a shuffling at the door of my office at home, and I turned to find Nathan carrying my daughter Mary in from a date.  He set her on the couch and said, "She's hurt, really bad."  I thanked him for bringing her in, and then turned my attention to Mary.  "What happened?", I exclaimed.  She said she had been skating around the rink when she looked over her shoulder for a moment, got on a wrong angle on the skates, and went up in the air and fell flat on her rear end.  Ouch!  She said she couldn't feel her legs at first, but then she managed to stand up and hobble over to the edge of the rink.  The whole rest of the night, the boys had to carry her around because she couldn't walk because of the pain.

When I asked her what her pain level was from 0-10, she said that when she was sitting or laying down, it didn't hurt, but when she walked, it was at an 8.  Yikes!  So I used muscle check to determine that what she needed most was a Raindrop.

The Raindrop Technique was developed by D. Gary Young, the founder of Young Living.  It is a therapeutic application of 9 specific essential oils to the feet and the back, along with some massage techniques.  Here is a link to download a brochure that explains more info about the Raindrop Technique.  I have found that one of the possible effects of the Raindrop is that it can bring the spine back into alignment.  I know this because on several occasions, my older children have come to me and said, "Mom, I need a Rainrdrop because my back hurts."  I have given them a Raindrop, and the pain has gone away.  With this in mind, when Mary described her injury, I knew a Raindrop would help.

I set up my massage table, helped her onto it, and then proceeded with the Raindrop.  How grateful I was that I had the oils and everything I needed to give her a good Raindrop.

The first thing I did as I was putting Valor on her shoulders, the first step in the Raindrop Technique, was to say a prayer out loud, asking Heavenly Father's help in healing her from this painful injury.  As I finished the prayer, I could feel her shoulders shaking.  I thought to myself, "Oh, she's crying...", but when I finished the prayer she started laughing!  Now, please understand, Mary is really not the type to of girl that would laugh irreverently through a prayer, so it really surprised me.  I said, "Are you laughing or crying?"  She wailed, "I don't know!", and then continued to laugh and laugh and laugh.  She laughed for probably five minutes.  In the meantime, I am continuing with the Valor on her feet.  As she continued to laugh uncontrollably, it occurred to me that a release was going on.  I had my daughter Libby bring me the manual from a class I took recently entitled "Five Elements Level 1: Rooms with a View", taught by Sharon Plaskett.  One of the charts in this book, cited from the book Between Heaven and Earth: A Guide to Chinese Medicine, indicates that laughing is the sound associated with the Fire Element.  It can be used to release excess or blocked energy from the Fire Element.  The diahragm is also one of the organs listed with the Fire Element, so when she fell, she might have sucked in her breath, and trapped an emotion/energy in the diaphragm.  This laughing was the release of that trapped emotion/energy.  I was glad to know this, because otherwise I would have thought she was going crazy!

Significantly, after about five full minutes of laughing, Mary finally slowed down and started breathing deeply, and said, "I feel so much better."  Wow!

I proceeded with the Raindrop Technique, applying Valor, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Cypress and Peppermint to her feet and back.  When I was done, and she was resting on the table, I also ran her on the Compass, and this is what came up for her:
  • Clarity
  • Tangerine
  • BLM Capsules
  • Hong Kuai
I had the first two, so I applied Clarity on her head, and Tangerine on the tailbone area.  Tangerine was an interesting one for me, since I had applied Tangerine to Joseph for a similar injury last year, that I described in this post.  I discovered then that Tangerine has anti-spasmodic properties, and here it was validated again.

At the end of the Raindrop, I also included a "Canopy" which I learned in another class I had taken from Sharon Plaskett called "AMSTAR".  A canopy reflects energy of the person's body and creates a canopy of energy that the client can use to heal the tissues.

So here are some tools that were used to help Mary:

Muscle check
Prayer
Fire Element Release through laughter
Raindrop Technique with Young Living essential oils
Canpoy
Zyto Compass and accompanying oils
Rest

Since she couldn't walk, (and my husband was away for work), I gave her a pillow and a blanket and let her sleep right on the massage table.

The next morning, Mary had a Choreography Camp for her Competition Ballroom Dance Team.  It was mandatory, and we had to leave at 6:15 am!  When I got her up, she was still wincing and grimacing.  I got the crutches for her, and she managed to walk enough to get out to the car.  At the studio, I set her up in a soft chair with some snacks by her side, and left.  When I came to pick her up three hours later, she was standing in the parking lot, and then she bent down to get some stuff, and walked over to the car, carrying her crutches!  When she got in the van, I said, "Mary, what happened?!"  She said, "Well, about halfway through, I felt like I should stand up, so I did, and it felt good.  I then felt like I should walk a little, which I did, and that felt good too.  So pretty soon, I was doing a few dance steps, and then I was doing the Samba.  I tried the Lindy Hop, but it was too much bouncing, but I was able to do the Samba!"

After shaking my head in amazement, I made the observation that situations like this are the only time that I think essential might be detrimental.  Detrimental to our character, that is.  Because they work so well, and cause the person to become functional so quickly, people for sure are going to think we were faking it!  But I'm OK with that, because I was so relieved and happy to see her out of pain and walking around.  Apparently, the Raindrop, along with the other things we did, was able to put her sacrum and coccyx back into alignment, and from there her body was able to adjust quickly.

The rest of the day, Mary was fine, and I applied Tangerine, Deep Relief and Aroma Siez in the evening.  The next day she was fine again, and then on Monday she said the chairs were hard at school, but that it wasn't a big deal.

I considered that whole experience to be a complete testimony to the ability of anyone with a desire to do so, to bring the power of healthcare back to their family.  I did not need to use any over-the-counter or prescription medication (Ibuprofen, Acetomenophine, etc), I did not have to take her to the ER late at night, I did not have to take her to follow-up Doctors visits, or Physical Therapy.  She did not have to suffer through a painful tailbone recovery period (weeks, months, ever years?), and she was functional the next day.  It was truly a miracle that I'm so grateful for.

I want to make clear that it was not me that did the healing, it was not the essential oils, it was not any other "modality".  All healing takes place within the body through the light of Christ.  He is the Master Healer!  But we can aid in that process by setting up the right conditions for the body to heal, which is what happened with the tools that we used.  As I've already mentioned, I was grateful to have some polished and effective tools on my healthcare tool belt!

What is on your healthcare tool belt?

Valerian and German Chamomile for Sleep and Relaxation

In a recent balance with one of my clients, we discussed some of the issues with which she is challenged on a day to day basis.  One of them was taking on the stress of others, and also just stress overall in her life.

I gave her a Raindrop, which is an application of essential oils to the feet and the back, along with some application techniques on the back, and then afterwards I ran her on the Zyto Compass.
The top two recommendations for her were  Valerian and German Chamomile essential oils.

The Essential Oils Desk Reference (EODR) lists the Fragrant Influence of Valerian as "Calming, relaxing, grounding, emotionally balancing."   Its Medical Properties are "Sedative and tranquilizing to the central nervous system."1

German Chamomile is similar.  The EODR lists "relaxant" as one of its Medical Properties, and "nervous tension" under USES.  The Fragrant Influence is "Dispels anger, stabilizes emotions, and helps release emotions linked to the past.  Soothes and clears the mind."2

Valerian  (Valeriana officinalis)
The great part of the story is this:  when my client saw these two oils on the top of her list, she just started to laugh.  She said, "You won't believe this, but this summer, all over my garden on this rental property, I have seen Valerian and German Chamomile plants popping up all over the place!"

Wow!

German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)

First of all, the fact that she even KNEW what those two plants looked like was very unusual, and then for those two plants to be the top two oils that came up on her Compass Report, was just incredible!  We laughed and laughed when we figured it out!  Goose-bumps all over!

It reminded me that we really underestimate plants and their native intelligence.  Is it a stretch to think that somehow, my friend was attracting the Valerian and German Chamomile plants?  I don't know, but there surely is something there to think about!

My mentor Karen Thompson has been recommending a book to me called The Secret Life of Plants, and after hearing this story, I really want to know more.

The continuation of the story is that my client reported that Valerian essential oil has made a huge difference in her sleep.  She said that the first time she took Valerian, she felt shaky and weak, but then she remembered that Valerian is best taken right before bed, so she did that.  She found that she slept much more soundly and awoke more refreshed.  Yes!  The German Chamomile is still under review, because she was having a harder time remembering to take it.

Black Pepper Essential Oil Replaces Prilosec

I had a fun learning experience with the Zyto Compass recently.

My friend Lori had Black Pepper come up on her Compass Report.  I usually recommend Black Pepper for deep muscle pain, but through muscle check, it was determined that she needed to take it internally in a capsule.  This seemed a little odd to me, because if it was for deep muscle pain, it would be better applied topically right on muscle, but I trusted the process and recommended internal consumption in a capsule.

After a few weeks where we were both in and out of town, we reconnected.  I was surprised to hear her say, "I'm off of Prilosec.  I just take Black Pepper instead!"  Wow - great news!  She related that when her stress level goes up, her stomach reacts with pain.  The Black Pepper in a capsule, anywhere from one drop to three or four, keeps that pain away.

What is more exciting is that essential oils bring oxygen and nutrition to the cells, and push toxins and chemicals out of the cells.  This sets up the right environment for the body to regenerate and heal cells, so instead of just being palliative care or symptom relief, actual change will occur in the cells and tissues, leading to lasting change for the better.  As Lori also works to address the way she handles stress in her life (there's an oil for that!), she can address the stomach pain problem from many angles, thereby decreasing or eliminating her need for any supplementation at all for this issue.

This is opposed to the pharmaceutical drug called Omeprazole (Prilosec is a brand name).  According to Pub-Med, Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by decreasing the amount of acid produced by the stomach.  Since the cause of the acid in the stomach is not addressed, the symptoms will continue to present themselves, and the product has to be bought over and over.  Sounds like a great money making deal!

In addition, because it is not a natural substance, Omeprazole has a long list of side-effects in the body.  All pharmaceutical drugs have side-effects.  The only reason to take them is if the benefit is greater than the risk.  But what if you can take a substance that is all benefit and no risk?1  And the results are real and lasting?  Wow - can we shout it from the housetops?!  That's what I often feel like doing!  It also makes me feel like dancing around with happiness, that people can provide the proper environment for their bodies to heal.  Happy day!

By the way, if you buy Prilosec on Amazon, the cost is .54 cents a dose (with a Subcribe and Save deal).  Black Pepper (even if you had to take it every day, which it is unlikely that you would, since healing takes place) at the Retail cost is .30 per drop.  Wholesale is 24% cheaper than that.  All things being equal (even adding in the cost of the capsule), Black Pepper is much cheaper than Prilosec.  Can we jump up on the housetop again?

Interestingly enough, I talked to Lori on our second visit about this principle taught by Christine Horvath:
"Symptoms are not an indication of the beginning and the ending of a disease.  They are evident some time after the body swings away from normal and they are lessened or gone some time before the body returns to normal."2
When she heard that, she related to me the fact that before running on the Compass the day that Black Pepper came up, she had been recovering from sore muscles.  The symptoms were gone, but only recently.  Even so, when I said that Black Pepper was for deep muscle pain, she felt like that didn't apply to her.  It wasn't until I talked about the healing principle above that she understood that Black Pepper may have come up for her for the sore muscles, that were still swinging back to normal, and the digestive issues as well.  Oh, I do love it when great connections are made like that!

This experience reminded me that I need to be careful not to confine any essential oils to "one" particular characteristic, such as helping with deep muscle pain, but to be open to many beneficial effects.  Essential oils are simple amazing for giving the body the oxygen and nutrition it needs to encourage a healing environment.

Although this is just one woman's experience, I wanted to share it, because I have had many people switch from an over-the-counter or prescribed drug to essential oils with good success.
I am grateful for that!

Have you had that experience?  Please share you story in the comments!

1 When I say "no risk", I mean no risk of negative side effects.  There may be a risk of uncomfortable symptoms arising from the body pushing toxins out of the cells too quickly, which constitutes what is known in natural healing as a "healing crisis".  The difference between these and a negative drug side-effect is that after a healing crisis, or detoxification, your cells are able to function at a higher level (i.e. you are healthier) versus a drug side-effect, after which your cells are still in a state of "dis-ease".  To my knowledge, with the Black Pepper and the dosage internally that she took, my friend Lori did not have a healing crisis or detox symptoms.
